To Market, to Market ...

For anyone on the Northern Beaches you must head down to the Billycart Markets next Saturday, 25th June. All of the products are for children (to age 12) and are 100% Australian and beautifully handcrafted.

In a fantastic location between the beach and the lake at Narrabeen, this market is ideal if you have a home business or have an idea for a product. Great exposure for limited outlay.

If anyone is interested I will do a blog about market stall tips and tricks, just let me know!!

Enjoy the (hopefully) sunny weekend.

Your local bookshop

With all the talk about Borders and Angus & Robertson going into receivership it has made me think about local bookstores.

Wouldn't it be a shame if all the bookstores disappeared. It's one thing to buy a book online but it is also a lot of fun sifting through shelves and discovering books you weren't aware of. There is plenty of space for e-books, internet shopping and local shops. I love Bookoccino in Avalon (www.bookoccino.com). It has a fantastic cafe, wonderful books and really friendly staff.

Happy Days!

At long last I have taken the plunge and decided to start up my own marketing consultancy for small businesses. In my case this is a much better solution than working for someone else as I try to juggle the whole small kids in pre-school/year 1 and working thing. My facebook page is up and running, my website is published (albeit with a few tweeks required) and I am raring to go! Now to find some work.

Stay tuned ...
